The regular season has come to an end for the Lloyd Memorial football team, which means the Juggs are back at 0-0 and ready to show what they got. The team had a very exciting regular season, finishing at a very quality 7-2 record going into the big dance. The high powered offense scored at least 42 points in seven of their nine games, the points being scored by a host of different Juggernauts.
The team finished at third in one of the most competitive districts in the state, finishing at third due to heartbreaking losses to very good district opponents Newcath in week 5 and to Newport this past Friday.
This past week the Juggernauts suffered a loss to the Newport Wildcats at Newport, however they did put together many great drives and good stands of defense. From this loss the Juggs are even more motivated going into the playoffs and know what they need to work on to make a run to winning the state title.
Going into the playoffs Loyd has a bye week before going into their first round matchup against the second place finisher in the 2A District 5, which at this point looks to be against Carroll County, whom the team did not play during the regular season.
Nonetheless, the Juggernauts are ready to rally together and get things right before their first playoff bout which is on November 7th and will be an away game due to the fact the Juggernauts lost home field advantage after their loss on Friday.
Everybody get ready to cheer extra loud for the Juggernauts as they try to make their run for a state title…GO JUGGS!!!!
